In this video I have learnt that a great opening sequence will make the audience instantly want to be nowhere else but in that theatre. Kyle Cooper created the idea that title sequences are 'art forms'. These title sequences set expectations for the film, and this attracts the audience as it makes them excited for the rest of the movie. Kyle Cooper uses background information within the film to create his title sequences. For example in 'se7en' he comments on the text being handwritten, this was because the character is a serial killer, therefor plotting his murders.
Kyle Cooper looks at micro organisms and unusual effects which you wouldn't usually detect in everyday life. These make the opening sequences seem a lot more interesting and creative and the use of accidents can make the title sequence become better than planned.
