Log Lines

In class I have learnt that log lines are a two sentence summary of a film which raises recognition of the movie to encourage people to watch the film. For example 'Faced with an unplanned pregnancy, an offbeat young woman makes an unusual decision regarding her unborn child'.
These sentences summarise the events which occur in the film 'Juno', where a teenaged girl becomes pregnant and debates giving her baby up for adoption. These log lines are created to always pose a question in the audiences minds. This way it interests them and keeps them hooked on the idea of watching the film.
Log lines are seen are seen on the back of dvds, on posters, in newspapers to help advertise the movie in a simple, fast way.

  1. Good. I would mention enigma in here to show you understand the idea of narrative and the need to pose questions in the audiences minds. Also, add a link to IMDB to show a variety of log lines.
