Treatment
A young girl, vulnerable and naïve, encouraged by the mind of a psychopathic stalker. Watching her every move and following her paths as she unknowingly lives her daily life with her single parent mother. Little do they know that their lives were about to change when the stalking becomes obsessive and plans began to form.
His mentally disturbed life begins to revolve around her, he begins to keep photographs and diaries of her daily routines, craving her presence and becoming determined to capture her.
All begins to become more intense as the mother grows suspicious, seeing a man present as they play in the park and take walks to school. This suspicion becomes aware to the stalker, making him become uncomfortable and identified. This causes a change in action, which speeds up his plot to take the young girl.
Conversation is made between the mother and the stalker when his curiosity about the young girl becomes unbearable. He makes himself seem ordinary as he reveals himself to the mother and daughter, asking them if they have seen his dog. He uses this as a conversation starter, but soon mentions questions about the young girl, comparing her to his 'niece' to disguise any further suspicion. The answers he received were vague, but fills the stalker in with her interests and hobbies, which he dwells on as he they give him ideas of ways to lure her into his path.
Being the 1960's, paedophilia was not recognized as an issue, therefore making his plot very easy. The stalker proceeds with his kidnapping, following the young girl and her mother as they walk home from school through the woodland. This was a restricted area which allowed him to all too easily take the child. Once the child runs ahead, he strikes, pulling the young girl backwards as he suffocates the mother. Hopelessly the young girl cries for help while watching her mother being beaten to the ground by a stranger. Unconscious, the mother lay on the floor, giving the stalker opportunity to escape with her daughter, while she lay unaware and helpless in the middle of the wood.
The stalker takes the young girl to a small shack, which he had been creating especially for her. They remain here for weeks, whilst the mother pleads for justice in hospital. The childs photographs were posted over newspapers and on milk cartons, but nothing was reported. Until a hole the young girl had been creating in the wall becomes big enough for her to escape. She takes the only opportunity she can find to run. With just one chance she sprints for her life and finds herself in a new town, in a place she doesn't recognize.
Her father who has only ever seen his daughter through the photographs in the newspaper, spots her as she scatters around alone, confused and gagging for help. He takes her to her mother in hospital who was suffering from severe injuries, and soon passes away, leaving the young girl with only a father she barley knew. Eventually she ends up living with her father, who cares and nurtures her as her mother once did. Protected and safe, she carries on her new life as though it was her old.
